WESTERN WORLD / PICTURE WINDOW (Independent)
Metal News:
The following review was sent to us by one of the great rock e-mags that have had such kind words for Faith Nation in the past, They just didn't notice that we changed singers since "Ordinary People" came out a few years ago. (from Pete Meados)>------> "Thanks for the kind words. It's nice to know you consider me in the same company as James Salters."
USA's Faith Nation are one of my favourite AOR bands and are criminally underrated. Their last album "Ordinary People (1999 Song Haus Music)" is such a good record and unlike many label releases it still holds up today, especially the ballad "Love Is An Ocean" which is a gorgeous track. Encase you didn't know Faith Nation features former singer James Salters, one time frontman of obscure but respected pomp AOR band The Brave. Faith Nation have released two classy studio albums and I am hoping that a third one will be out soon, its about time that this classy band got more attention.
It has been a few years since the band delivered us with any new product and finally a couple of new tracks can be downloaded from their website. Western World" continues their melodic approach, Salter's voice sounds more fuller than before, he still has that Steve Perry inspired edge with a touch more roughness and the song is just really cool. This track is very melodic with chugging guitars and a Sammy Hagar meets Hugo inspired chorus coupled with subtle atmospheric keyboards, just take a listen to Salters vocals during the chorus and the question why the band remain unsigned?
The second song you can download is 'Picture Window', keep baring in mind that you are hearing demos, this track has all the ingredients to make for a classy melodic rock song, given a thicker polished production as heard on the bands previous two albums and it will sound great, the track has soaring guitar hooks from Hewey Peterson. So there you go two brand new Faith Nation tracks showcasing their superb style, the demos don't best represent what the band are about, but Faith Nation are a band that should by rights be picked by say MTM Music or Frontiers, sort it out guys please, I can't wait for album number three.
