Lewis (Stretch) Sego - Keyboard

People I respect have told me, "You are sucessful when you do what you love & use all the gifts God has given to you in order to touch lives." Playing and performing with Faith Nation along with 20 years of music ministry allows me to do that. Being a part of the latest configuration of FN is hyper-cool, as a studio session player I have worked with gifted musicians, but this is the best group of pros I have ever had the privilege to create music with. I feel blessed to have the musicians & the tools, { seventeen synths & g4 powerbook driving pro tools } to make the best music of my life. Making memorable music while delivering an energizing performance has been my goal since I was young. It is a long look back to the magical event of the delivery of my dad's baby grand when I was five. I fell in love with the piano at once. Of course I wanted to quit like anyone who has ever taken up an instrument, but my Mom & Dad wouldn't let me. I am very grateful for that. From my first concert in second grade to playing in front of 30,000 plus outdoors, the musical journey has been exciting and fullfilling. Playing in front of bands like Styx, REO, Kansas, Jackson Brown, The Moody Blues, Supertramp and Rush, just to mention a few, was a lot of fun. I have to admit, living on the road with a 300 gig/year touring schedule was very draining and somewhat destructive. The music business can also be heartbreaking as I have worked with some amazing musicians and performed in what our fans refered to as awesome progressive rock & roll bands, courted by major labels, be on the verge of the "deal" when someone in the group would bail shipwrecking years of work. Surviving as an artist is no easy feat, Writing jingles and corporate sales soundtracks, performing for christmas parties, hotel restraunts, and weddings become necessities for sustinance and God has been faithful to me and to meeting the need of my family. I am still married to the love of my life after 19 years and we have two boys who never hesitate to make fun of their "rocker" dad. I am grateful to have survived a near fatal accident with a drunk driver. (Please don't drink and drive...designate, or call for a cab) I was told I might never walk unassisted again, but thanks to your prayers along with back surgery in 2004, I am able to keep smiling, playing and rocking with Faith Nation. See you out there at a concert near you.........Stretch
