Memorial Day
Here's a big thank you to all who are serving our country now! We remember with gratitude those who gave the ultimate sacrifice that we can enjoy the relative freedom of living in this great experiment called the United States of America. We honor the fallen by living with passion, integrity and purpose to make this country a great place to rear children as we pass on a vision of hope for the future amidst the pessimists and winers. Wishing you and yours a safe holiday, may you celebrate life, family and love as we of Faith Nation will be.
Earth Day Celebration
While many celebrate Earth Day & worship "mother earth" today, we celebrate the Maker of the heavens and Earth who alone is worthy of worship. It is a funny thing that we humans worship the created rather than the creator. I was director of marketing for an environmental recycling company that developed and sold equipment to prevent mercury from polluting our environment. It was the result of a God given "vision" to a godly business man that understood that we have a responsibility to be good stewards of the earth and it's resources. During my time with the company I rubbed shoulders with environmental activists that although well meaning were placing the care of "mother earth" above the needs of humanity and saw business and industry as evil, and referred to humanity as a bacteria on the planet. I remember thinking wow, if you follow that thru logically, we should kill the bacteria (ie humans) and allow the earth to remain unspoiled. The truth is, there is a bacteria that has infected and is destroying our planet: evil and sin. Pride and selfishness and greed are destroying our civilization and our planet. Responding to the great Love of the creator, creates a well spring of love for people, and also love and appreciation of the planet. Let's keep the right perspective..........spread the love today!

Thank You for your support
before, during, and after our first concert with the new line up at Diamonds. We really appreciated your response to the band and our new material! It meant a lot to us that many of you traveled several hours to be there for the debut concert. The demand for the first release of "Western World" was very strong, and we were humbled by all the requests for autographs. As a reminder that you never know who might be in the audience, and breaks can happen from any show, the promoter for "Rockin Rogers Days" came to check us out, liked what he saw and heard, and booked us for a 3000 person show on the 23rd of June. We will post further details and directions closer to the show. Hope to see you and your friends at one of our next concerts. We love to play for you!! Thanks for keeping the faith! Love & Peace.........Stretch

In other news.......

Congratulations to Hewey and his daughter Angie for the healthy arrival of Sophia Rae on 1-25-06 Hewey shares....She is 9lbs 1ounce and 20 and a half inces long. Most babies all look the same to me and I know when a kid isn't cute but this little girl is is really cute. I was really glad that I was at the hospital when she was born. Angie's doing well. Thanks for your prayers guy's. Your all the best! P.S. I will not do tricks with my dentures on stage! The new grandkid is doing well. She eats, sleeps and poops a lot but the rest of my family does too so I'm used to that.

God Bless all of you, Hewey
December, 2005
Merry Christmas, from Faith Nation: Hewey, Lewis, Matt, Pete & the spontaneously combusting Drummer. The reference to our spinal-tap drummer situation, is due to the sad fact that Brian Owen, our friend and awesome drum pounder, cannot continue with the recording and touring demands of the band due to personal issues. We wish him the best and hope to collaborate again in the future. This was a big disappointment for all of us, and we find ourselves needing to find a suitable replacement, no easy task. We welcome any referrals of excellent drummers as we are already holding auditions. Send contact info to email on contact us page.

I must apologize for the failure to press copies of "Western World", when I received the master, I found that there were things I wanted to change and improve before a full release. This requires some re-recording, not just remixing. I hate to disappoint you who have supported us and have been anticipating this records release with such patience. Hewey & I both admit to being compulsive perfectionists, and this certainly can get in the way of getting product to press. The important thing for us, is that any record we put out represent our music in the best way possible. So we continue to tweak things, and will keep you posted.

This years natural disasters have reminded us of how fragile life is, how "material stuff" while of little importance is still necessary and significant to those who lost everything, and how blessed we are. Faith Nation has been asked to include a track on a hurricane relief album that will be out soon, Stretch provides the keyboard tracks for all of the artists, We will let you know here when it can be purchased.

We are very thankful for the blessings in our lives and wish you and yours a joyful and peaceful holiday season. It often seems that the words peaceful & holiday season are incongruent these days with all of the hustle and business of modern life. However the peace that passes all understanding is a great gift from God, the result of the first Christmas gift and the reason for the season, the birth of Jesus. The depressing reality of the music business would have robbed me of all joy, if not my life if not for investigating this "Jesus" stuff, and finding the reality of God's presence and Love. If you are finding yourself missing out on the joy & peace of this season, it is found not from religious activity, but a relationship with God who loves you accepts you as you are. Giving your life to God by accepting his Love and sacrifice will lead to knowing the freedom of graceful acceptance and that there is a plan for your life. His presence will bring peace in the midst of chaos and Joy that endures. May God's peace & Joy be yours. Stretch
